What happens at a dance fitness class?

Every class is carefully planned to ensure everyone gets a safe, effective and fun class workout. I always start with a structured warm-up to mobilise the joints, raise the body temperature and get the blood pumping. The main section includes choreographed, uplifting routines covering a wide variety of dance styles. I always finish the class with a gentle cool down.

How much do classes cost and how do I pay?

2023 class prices

All classes cost £5.50 per session unless you pay for an unlimited class pass which costs £46.00.

Classes can be paid by cash or BACS payment.

Fitness Pilates sessions must be paid at the time of booking.

Do I need dance experience to attend classes?

No, absolutely not!  It doesn’t matter if you’ve never danced before, DANCE FIT with CONAN classes are for everyone and the steps are taught in such a way that you can work at your own pace and gradually gain a knowledge of the core steps.

I am unable to attend the same classes each week due to work – will I miss something?

No, the great thing about DANCE FIT with CONAN is that there is no set ‘course’ of lessons so you can pick up where you left off if you’ve been on holiday for example. New dances are introduced regularly to keep things interesting but there will be some dances that are kept the same so everyone will still know at least a few of the dances.  You can pick and choose whichever class is most convenient for you throughout the week and get your DANCE FIT with CONAN fix whenever is best for you.

The same goes for Fitness Pilates although I recommend committing yourself to a weekly class to get the full benefits of this class.

Do I need a partner?

No partner is required, but if you’d like to bring some friends or family along that’s great – the more the merrier.  If you’re coming along on your own, don’t worry you will soon make friends at DANCE FIT with CONAN.

Do I need to pre-book?

Yes, booking is required for all classes. This gives everyone plenty of space to move without being too close to other class members.

Is there a stage so I can see?

Yes, all of the venues where I teach dance fitness classes have a raised stage, so you always get a clear view of all the moves!

What do I need to bring?

Bring a drink and a small gym towel (if required).

What should I wear?

Wear light-weight, breathable clothing such as leggings, joggers, t-shirts and vests and sweaters. I recommend wearing a lightweight trainer for all dance fitness classes. Socks or bare foot for Fitness Pilates classes.

How many classes do you recommend attending per week?

Two classes a week is a great way to kick start any fitness plan and you should see real results provided you are following a healthy eating plan in conjunction with the classes.  Of course, if you can only attend one class each week or want to attend more than two classes that’s absolutely fine! Some members like to do back to back dance fit classes and others like to do one dance fitness and one Fitness Pilates. The choice is yours!
